This year our team has been focusing on enhancing and supporting our talent to further our success. Collaborating makes us stronger and more efficient and improves our ability to service our broker partners and insureds. Recently, our division hosted an offsite meeting to bond and learn more about new resources. The event served as an educational retreat that deepened our connections with each other and gave us time to focus together on trends within our industry.

Additionally, we’ve had quite a few broker events across the country. In Philadelphia, our underwriters joined brokers at a Phillies game, we had a great time skiing in Denver despite some turbulent weather, and we hosted a Boston Happy Hour event with ping pong back in February. In May we attended both the RIMS 2024 Annual Conference and Target Markets Mid-Year Meeting where we got caught up with other industry professionals.

Underwriting Updates

The underwriters of Great American’s Environmental Division have been hard at work with new business opportunities, broker appreciation events, industry conferences, and training opportunities while maintaining our service excellence mentality.  

Our strong team of industry professionals take pride in crafting environmental insurance coverage tailored to fit the needs of your clients.

At the end of last year, we had two accomplished underwriters celebrate milestone anniversaries. Rich Viglianese celebrated his 10-year anniversary with Great American Environmental, where he has been instrumental in our operations and recent technical updates with his work ethic and dedication to his profession. Additionally, Dan Downing celebrated his 5-year anniversary with us. Dan has become an enthusiastic underwriter who enjoys a challenge. Congrats to you both!

Heather Boyd currently serves as a Divisional Vice President of National Underwriting with Great American’s Environmental Division. In her role, Heather works with her team to provide best-in-class environmental insurance products and services to current and prospective clients. Her background includes over 25 years of environmental experience in international and domestic consulting, risk management in oil and gas, and prior insurance experience. She is based out of the Boston office.
