With one year of the EPA’s strategic roadmap implementation under regulators’ belts, Perrin Conferences hosted a webinar to discuss updates made in the first year and ways to prepare for 2023. 

Sara Brothers had the chance to speak during the webinar, touching on claims trends, insurance implications and coverage considerations regarding PFAS. The panel presented a brief background of the historical uses of the chemical, discussed numerous potential claims scenarios, detailed insurance and underwriting considerations and wrapped up the presentation with a few key items to be on the lookout for moving forward.

As part of the presentation, the group also discussed some best practices for claim handling and risk management, including timely investigation and reporting, identifying, reducing and eliminating PFAS compounds in manufacturing, maintaining compliance and performing thorough property due diligence.
